Database reactivation
Database reactivation is the practice of contacting past leads and customers already in a business's records to restart conversations and win new bookings or sales.
Most businesses hold years of contacts who never bought, bought once, or stopped coming back. Database reactivation turns that list into a planned outreach program. Because these people already know your business, you start from some familiarity rather than from nothing.
Who is in scope
- Leads who inquired but never booked.
- Quotes that were never accepted.
- Past customers who have not returned within your normal cycle.
- Customers due for a repeat service, renewal or check-up.
How it works
- Clean the list. Remove duplicates, bad numbers and anyone who has opted out. Check what consent you hold for each channel, because calling and texting old contacts is subject to consent rules such as the TCPA.
- Segment. Group contacts by what they asked for and when. A specific reason to reach out works better than a generic "checking in".
- Send a relevant message. Keep it short, specific and easy to answer: a seasonal service, new availability, or a question about whether they still need help.
- Handle replies fast. Reactivation often produces a burst of replies at once. An AI agent can answer, qualify and book within minutes, so warm replies are not left waiting.
- Measure. Track reply rate, bookings and revenue for each segment, and watch opt-outs.
